" Through his website, and forum/blog, he has presented the entire technique of Pistol-Shooting in an extremely simplified, systematic, scientific manner, with detailed description and information of each fragmented component which when ‘defragmented’ or ‘assembled’ gives a lucid & an almost magical picture of the correct technique of shooting the ‘Perfect Shot’.”

If you are planning to buy a 10 m air pistol, one of the biggest decisions you will face is choosing between a mechanical trigger and an electronic trigger. Both trigger systems are capable of winning Olympic medals, But they behave differently during the firing process.

One of the keys to precision shooting is maintaining a smooth follow-through. At the instant the shot is released, the trigger should allow the shooter to maintain consistent pressure, grip, balance, and sight focus. A mechanical trigger loses its resistance suddenly when the sear releases, whereas an electronic trigger provides a smoother and more consistent feel throughout the trigger release. Many shooters believe this helps them maintain better follow – through and execute cleaner shots.

In this video, I explain these differences using a simple animation that clearly demonstrates how each trigger behaves and why I personally prefer an electronic trigger for 10 m air pistol shooting.
Whether you are purchasing your first competition pistol or considering an upgrade, understanding these differences will help you make a more informed decision.
